Course content
Introduction to kinesiology, basic definitions, terminology and forms. Basic functional anatomy and biomechanics of connective tissue, ligaments and tendons. Basic functional anatomy and biomechanics of cartilage and bone. Bone connections - biomechanical basics of bone connections. Muscle, muscle fiber types, structure, muscle contraction. Basic biomechanical terminology, levers. Movement control basics, muscle spindle, Golgi tendon organ, motor unit. Motor pathways, participation of CNS structures on movement control - introduction.

Learning outcomes
Introduction to the fundamentals of general kinesiology as an artificial compilation of interdisciplinary science about movement as a function. Functional morphology, biomechanics, humoral and neurophysiological aspects of kinesiology and movement analysis. Basic terminology and (patho)kinesiological categories.
Upon completion of the course students will be able to put theoretical knowledge to practical use.
