Course content
Definition of Rehabilitation and physiotherapy, basic terminology, history of the field. Rehabilitation plan. Movement restrictions - hypo-mobility. Restrictions of the joint movement. Conditioning exercise - individual and group; methodology, principles. Categories of movement and types of muscle contraction - its relevance for physiotherapy. Application of muscle biomechanics in physiotherapy. Active, passive and assisted movement - techniques - handling. Basics for movement function assessment. Functional categories of muscles (synergies). Functional muscle activation (facilitation). The influence of the position on muscle function. The influence of the breathing and position on muscle function. Treatment methods for muscle relaxation. Assessment - detailed anamnesis. Assessment - mobility, stand, gait. Assessment - shortened muscles, range of motion. Components of kinesiotherapy unit, conditioning kinesiotherapy. Introduction to Muscle Testing. Classical massage - types and outcomes.

Learning outcomes
Basics of motorics re-education. In addition to theoretical knowledge students will acquire a practical basis for palpation diagnostics of reflex disorders in movement periphery, argumentation, practical knowledge of principals in rehabilitation nursing, and the basics of classical and reflex massage techniques.
Students will acquire basic knowledge about the historical and, above all, the contemporary therapeutic rehabilitation practice used in medical rehabilitation and in the treatment of movement disorders. Students will master classical and reflex massage techniques.
