The course has a theoretical and practical structure. Students get acquainted with the field and specialization of occupational therapy with which physiotherapy is very closely related to clinical practice. Furthermore, it deals with diagnostics and therapy not only of sensor-motoric functions, everyday activities but also with issues of cognitive deficits or selection of suitable compensatory aids and modification of barriers.
The aim is to acquire basic knowledge and techniques used in occupational therapy. After completing the course, the student knows the theoretical framework of the field and is able to provide a patient with basic occupational therapy treatment in the area of ADL examination and practice of everyday activities, in the area of hand therapy and fine motor skills and in the field of cognitive function assessment.
