Course content
Excursion is aimed to the practical introduction to selected problems of environmental conservation in Czech Republic. During fifth days are visited technologies which could potentially risky impacted environment (electric power plants, garbage dispose plants, coal and other sources mining and their restorations). Hereafter are visited selected Protected Landscape Areas and National Parks, where are presented special tools of management. On the excursion are visited the field research sites as well. There is shown specific methods of the field research on running projects. The excursion is aimed to assort theoretical knowledge's of the students to help them learn more about their possible future jobs. Learning outcomes
The course aims at presenting actual problems on the field of nature conservation (environment-affecting technologies, respectively) and the means of its solution. These are presented using practical experiences of state nature protection employees, mainly experts from National Park or Protected Landscape Areas Agencies.
Application - Know the different workplaces and technologies of environmental protection in the CR - Identify valuable sites of nature conservation in the CR and principles of their management - Identify selected environmental problems in different regions - Become personally familiar with the staff of public administrations and stakeholders involved in addressing environmental issues in various areas
Prerequisites
Field excursion is a practical course following the teoretical lectures on Nature Conservation and Protected Areas, implementing and framing, at the same time, knowledge gained during lectures of Geology, Geomorfology, Botany, Zoology, Ecology etc.

Assessment methods and criteria
Dialog, Systematic Observation of Student

The students have to take place in the whole, 5-day field excursion program, or, alternatively, prepare the essay on the sites where missing (in case of immediate health-problem, or other serious reasons).
