Course content
The subject is focused on the development of international nature conservation movement on the governmental and non-governmental levels. And it is compared with the situation in the Czech Republic. It explains the functions of international organizations (e.g. UNESCO, IUCN, WWF), the importance of conceptional work on the international level and the principle of international conventions, agreements and directives (e.g. CITES, EECONET, EU directives), and its implementation in the Czech Republic. Financial instruments of the international funds are discussed. The most important international nature conservation issues are listed (e.g. the decrease in rainforest coverage, global warming, hunting of rare animal species).
