Course content
1. Theory of the historical monument value 2. Historical areas under protection 3. New buildings in historical context 4. Conversion and reconversion of historical monuments 5. Preservation of ruins 6. Presentation of archeological findings 7. Historical monument instalations in historical buildings 8. Methods of restoring fragmentary monuments 9. Copy, facsimile and replica 10. Institutional and legislative background of the national historical monument preservation

Learning outcomes
Lectures outline the theoretical aspects of contemporary historical monument preservation with the special attention to actual practical questions. Problems of preservation of historical towns, restoring and conservating, registers of monuments. The Seminar outlines actual legislative of the historical monuments protection and the sketch of basic methods which are used by establishment of the national monument care institutes. Metodology of the historical monument renovation.
