The cycle illustrates broader aspects of artistic commissions in the early modern period using the example of a selected artist (architect, sculptor, stuccoer) or client. The historical, political, social, and client context is analyzed. Emphasis is placed on the nature, scope, and execution of the commissioned work, its social and representative functions, as well as the significance of the building in question within the client's residential network or property structure, its typology, and any specific features. The selected artist or client varies. The course may include one-day visits to selected buildings.
