Based on selected original texts, the course introduces students to key figures, movements and texts in 20th and 21st century art history. The focus is on Anglo-American approaches to art history, supplemented by key figures in German and French art history and the influence of other concepts and disciplines on art history. The course is based on critical readings of texts in the methodology of art history and visual culture. The aim is to demonstrate the diversity of discourse on art from the early 20th century to the present.
