The aim of the course is to provide an overview of theoretical and practical solutions for the protection of monuments from antiquity to the present day, with particular emphasis on the history of monument preservation in the 19th to 21st centuries in the Czech lands. It covers basic terms, key historical events and concepts, as well as current challenges with regard to the political, social, and environmental situation of the world in the 21st century.
