Learning outcomes
The course will include a historical reflection on museology, a basic theoretical introduction to museology, as well as practical familiarization with museum and gallery operations ? registration, evaluation, and presentation, with an emphasis on curatorial competencies. A key aspect of the course will be in situ visits to selected collection institutions, supplemented by tours not only of exhibitions and displays, but also of the facilities of these institutions. The specific experience provided by the staff of these institutions and, above all, interaction with students will enable them to become familiar with the principles of museum and gallery work in a real environment and in a direct manner. Students will thus not only gain factual and theoretical information about this field of applied art history, but will also learn practical methods of working in museums and galleries, which will be verified through seminar assignments.
