Course content
1. Situation of Czech art at the turn of the 19th and the 20th century, Mařák´s school. 2. Myslbek´s school, Jan Štursa. 3. Character of the artistic group Osma. 4. Bohumil Kubišta. 5. Character of the Artists Group(Skupina výtvarných umělců). 6. Otto Gutfreund. 7. Tvrdošíjní. 8. The wave of neorealism in Czech art of the twenties. 9. Devětsil a artificialism, Jindřich Štyrský a Toyen. 10.Surrealism in the Czech interwar art.

Learning outcomes
Two-semester cycle of lectures provides a lucid outline of the specific development of Czech painting, sculpture, spatial and conceptual art between the years 1900 -1970. Change in opinion of artistic creation are observed both in the context of the history of socio-political and cultural changes in the Czech lands as well as in the broader context of historical events in the 20th century, which influenced the European art scene.
Basic knowledge of the development tendences in Czech painting and sculpture between 1900-1930.
Prerequisites
Ending the second year of the bachelor degree of the History of Art.
