Learning outcomes

In the course, students will get acquainted with the main tendencies, trends and strategies of art of the 20th and 21st centuries, its perception and evaluation. Attention will be paid to the contem-porary world of art and the circumstances of artistic creation. The goal is to ask questions. These will change according to the current severity. While doing so, the apparatus of contemporary image sciences will be examined.
After completing the course the students will be able to basic orientation in the field of contemporary art. They will get acquainted with the basic concepts and will be able to apply them correctly. Through the exercises, they will also try different approaches to the interpretation and evaluation of a work of art.

Assessment methods and criteria

The student is obliged to actively participate in lectures, work out assigned tasks (written as well as practical) and present a paper. Active participation in the semester excursion is a prerequisite for successful completion of the course
