Course content
Topics: 1. Technique of sgraffito, decorative surfaces of architecture. 2.-4. The context of facade decoration in Europe in the 15th and 16th centuries. 5.-6. Renaissance sgraffito of the 16th century in the Czech Republic, castle in Litomyšl, chateau in Frýdlant. 7. Renaissance sgraffito of the 16th century in the Czech Republic, castles of the Royal Chamber. 8.-9. Renaissance sgraffito of the 16th century in the Czech Republic, Slavonice. 10.-11. Renaissance facade of the 16th century in the Czech Republic, Prachatice. 12. Renaissance sgraffito of the 16th century in the Czech Republic, Tábor.

Learning outcomes
Winter semester lectures will be syntetically concentrated on sgraffito of the 15th and 16th century. The seminar is focused on concrete selected historical monuments and their sgraffito decoration. Every student makes a presentation on selected historical monument. The topic will be extended in the summer semester by a seminar paper.
Practical consolidation of knowledges attached in lectures.
Prerequisites
Subject is designated for students of Bachelor study of History of Fine Arts.

Assessment methods and criteria
Dialog, Systematic Observation of Student

Presentation of a paper on a given topic - the student will be contextually asked about the context of the lectures, the active involvement of the student in the discussion in the seminar. Attendance at lectures at least 80%, attendance at seminars at least 80%.
