Course content
- Role, themes and concepts of baroque painting - Main personalities of the 17th and 18th century painting - Education and social status of the painters - Iconography and symbolic language - Baroque fresco painting; illusionism; relationship between ceiling paintings and architecture. - Picture galleries, art collecting - Historical and portrait painting

Learning outcomes
Lectures are focused on the survey of the Czech and Moravian painting of the 17th and 18th century in historical, cultural and social contexts.
The knowledge of the types and changes of painting in its main centers in Bohemia and Moravia in the 17th and 18th century.
Prerequisites
The basic knowledge of Art History

Oral exam
