Learning outcomes
|
The course deals with the main tendencies, trends and strategies of art at the turn of the 20th and 21st century, its perception, critical reflection and evaluation. Attention will be paid to the contemporary art world and the circumstances of artistic operation, curatorial practice and ways of communicating the work of art as an open structure with unstable meaning. The apparatus of contemporary image sciences and aesthetics as a theory of critical evaluation will be used. The course will include regular visits to exhibitions, museum collections and studios.
Basic orientation in the field of contemporary art; students learn about basic concepts, their correct use; developing skills of reception and interpretation of works of art.

Interest in the specific topics; basic orientation in general European history

Assessment methods and criteria
|

Continuous completion of assignments, producing a written work and a paper, a written test to check the knowledge of topics discussed. Attending at least 80% of classes. Active participation in the semester excursion is a prerequisite for successful completion of the course
