Learning outcomes
The seminar will present important works of the Olomouc heritage fund from the Middle Ages to the 20th century. After introductory lessons on the history of Olomouc and an overview of art-historical literature on the topic, students will have a series of excursions during which they will learn in situ about significant buildings and works of art in the historical centre of Olomouc, their creators and the cultural and historical context of their creation.
In-depth knowledge of the heritage fund of the Olomouc City Heritage Reserve; developing skills of reception and interpretation of works of art.
Prerequisites
Interest in the specific topics; basic orientation in general European history

Assessment methods and criteria

Producing and presenting a paper; completion of assignments throughout the semester. Attending at least 80% of classes.
