Learning outcomes
The lectures introduce the visual art techniques of drawing, painting and sculpture with regard to their identification and historical development. The course also focuses on materials in the visual arts - i.e. introducing pigments, dyes, binders, substrates, varnishes and other raw materials necessary in the realisation of a work of art. In addition to the theoretically oriented lessons, part of the lecturing will be implemented by practical demonstrations of materials and techniques. Students will be confronted with technological copies and historical objects.

Prerequisites
Interest in the specific topics; basic orientation in general European history

Assessment methods and criteria
