Learning outcomes
|
Lectures (two hours every two weeks) introduce the basic concepts of the theory of creation and perception of painting in the past and present. Practical examples illustrate the principles of linear, color, compositional, spatial, expression, and material construction of paintings, and means of expression in painting.
Survey of basic terms of the theory of the creation and of the reception of a painting from the classical antiquity to the 20th century and of the principles of the linear, colour, compositional, space, semantic and material construction of the painting.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Written exam
Presence: at least 80%. Successful completion of the written test. The test will include (a) knowledge of lectures, (b) knowledge of required Literature: Ernst Hans Gombrich, Příběh umění, Praha 1990 (a pozdější vydání).
