Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to situate students in the multidisciplinary network of heritage conservation. PhD students get acquainted with the current conservation debate and the particular contribution of the professions involved, from humanities and historiography (axiology, cultural policy, art history, ethnology, archeology) through creative (architectural design) and educational disciplines to technology and science (material research, restoration).
After completing the course, students are able to (a) characterize cultural heritage and its situation within the social discourse, (b) explain current issues of approaching cultural-historical phenomena, (c) characterize the contribution of individual disciplines in the tangible cultural heritage protection, (d) design and coordinate the involvement of specialized disciplines in the specific tasks of the heritage conservation projects.
