Course content
|
The seminar covers thematic blocks about the art, architecture and life-style of the Middle Ages, Early Modern times, the nineteenth century and the twentieth- twentiest centuries. The content is adapted according to the topics, processed in the disserations of the students in the doctoral degree programme. Over the course of the seminars, there are also presentations by students, mostly dealing with issues related to their dissertation topic. In this way, individual students step out of their narrow specialization and receive an overview of current methodological developments in the field, the qualitative guarantee of which depends on the instructors. The seminars are organized as a full-day meeting. In the seminar, the emphasis is placed on an interdisciplinary approach, on methodology and on keeping track of current domestic and foreign literature.
