Course content
1.Classification of children's age groups. Specifics of individual age groups. Basic growth data. 2.Newborn - physiology and pathology. 3.Neuropsychic infant development - detailed development of the motor skills. 4.Respiratory tract disorders - obstructive bronchitis, bronchial asthma, bronchopneumonia, cystic fibrosis. 5.Infant nutrition - natural, artificial. Diseases associated with eating disorders. 6.CNS disorders - CP, trauma, inflammation. 7.Diseases of bones and joints - osteomyelitis, JCA, haemophilia.

Learning outcomes
The course is designed as theoretical. It introduces students to the development of a healthy and ill child with regard to his or her individual needs and the level of psychomotor development achieved in different age periods. It provides a set of information on disease prevention, on childhood illnesses in full and in relation to physiotherapy. The course introduces students to the diseases of individual systems with an emphasis on diseases of the musculoskeletal system and central nervous system. In other areas of paediatrics, emphasis is placed on the possibilities of physiotherapy in complex care of a sick child. The attention is paid to chronically ill children.
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the issues of paediatric patients, their physiological development, possible pathologies and aftercare.
