1. Grammaticality and rules in language 2. Sentence structure and main clauses (Concepts from contemporary syntactic theory about the structure of nominal and verbal clauses, which can be described as continuous syntactic phrases in Asian languages, will be expanded.) 3. Nominal clauses and their referential properties (definiteness, number, denotation, reference, deixe) For nominal clauses, the different understanding and expression of number and quantity will be explained, where in many Asian languages it is necessary to use nominal clauses indicating the class of the word. 4. Verbal clauses and their referential properties (mode, manner, source of information, etc.) The main relationships between the main clauses, such as subject, object and predicate, and their relationship to the valency profile of the verb will be described. 5. Other properties of the predicate (verb gender, widening and narrowing of valency) Among the grammatical categories of the verb, the most attention will be paid to the aspect and expression of time, modality and source of information (evidentiality). 6. Questions 7. Compositionality 8. Truth values, implications, presuppositions 9. Semantic relations: implicature, conversational implicature, paraphrase, implication

This course develops Introduction to Language Studies I and introduces sentence structure and semantics. The basis is an understanding of the concept of grammaticality in connection with current sentence structure and its meaning, including sentence implication. The second part of the course is devoted to truth values (implicature, presupposition) and meaning relations (compositionality, implicature, following). Correct understanding of the material is verified by solving language problems.
