Course content
Main topics (blocks) of teaching: - Descriptive statistics, frequency tables and histograms, types of frequencies - Descriptive statistical characteristics of the base and sample set - Data files, their creation and processing - Work with categorical data, contingency tables - Statistical hypothesis testing (parametric and non-parametric tests) - Working with basic statistical methods in Microsoft Excel - Presentation of the results of statistical methods

Learning outcomes
The subject introduces the basics of statistics and the types of statistical methods applicable to research problems solved in the field of health protection and promotion. It provides an overview of empirical data processing methods using descriptive and inductive statistics, including data preparation for statistical analysis and statistical evaluation. The data will be processed using the statistical program Microsoft Excel.
The student is able - describe basic statistical concepts - master the basics of critical scientific thinking -implementation of research results and new findings in the field into clinical practice -use the principles of evidence-based practice - respect the ethical principles of scientific work in healthcare
