Course objectives: The aim of the course is to introduce the practice of the ombudsman in the field of construction law from various perspectives. Students, under the guidance of lawyers from the office of ombudsman, will apply their knowledge of construction law to real cases from the practice of ombudsman, including groundwater, cultural monuments, protected landscape areas, etc. Part of the course is 4 hours of practical placement in the office of ombudsman. After completing the course, students will have detailed information about the activities of the Ombudsman in the field of construction law, specifically get acquainted with the investigation, the content of file documentation, etc. Students will be able to independently analyze practical situations in construction law and process basic documents based on ombudsman activities in this area.
At the end of the course students should be able to: understand the relevant legislation; apply theoretical knowledge in practise; draft answers to complaint addressed to the Public Defender of Rights. Students will experience work for the Public Defender of Rights, including meeting with complainant in case of interest. Students should be able to understand the process of inquiries into complaints conducted by the Public Defender of Rights. |
