Course content
Due to the content of the course interactive approach will be used. In the first phase students will be introduced to basic discrimination issues. Together with a teacher the most common problems that occur in legal practice will be identified and evaluated. Real solved cases will be used to demonstrate particular procedures that were successfully applied. As regards selection of cases we will cooperate with NGO Liga lidských práv. The key task for the students will be to solve individual discrimination cases. Students will consult all steps taken with the teacher, who provides them with all necessary help during looking for solution. Every solved case will be concluded with an evaluation of the facts and legislation status and suggested procedures.

Learning outcomes
The primary aim of the course Antidiscrimination Legal Clinic is to help students gain familiarity with the topic that overlaps more legal disciplines and provide them with a complex insight into discrimination as a selected field of human right protection. Students will work in small groups and together with the supervisor of the course they will be solving particular cases of discrimination behaviour with a direct influence on threat to individual rights and freedoms.
Student will be able to understand how to solve practical problems of discrimination and will be able to use proper legal instruments (Antidiscrimination Act). Student will be able to find proper literature and know the practice of the courts. The knowledge of discrimination problems will help them to understand another part of the human rights protection.

There are no pre-requisites for this subject.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance

Colloquy is obtained based on active participation of the student in the theoretical and practical part of the subject and development of appropriate knowledge and skills in the the field of discrimination.
