|
The essence of the course "Popularised Law - Law for Schools" is to give foreign university students coming to Olomouc from France the opportunity to provide basic legal education for high school students learning French. Having regard to a demand of participating high school teachers a to knowledge of incoming university students, the courses in following areas will be offered: 1) international law (in particular human rights law), 2) European Union law and 3) basics of French legal system (in particular topics related to the State system, political system, constitutional law, eventually other topics as required by cooperating high schools). Students will participate in seminar courses taught by Martina Grochová (who will cover street law methods, international law and European union law) and Leona Černá (who will cover basics of French legal system) and will also prepare individually in pairs in which the high school courses will be taught. Foreign students will have the opportunity to discover and experiment with street law technics in seminars; they will also have the possibility to discuss their lesson plans. The course has a social dimension; the aim is to educate groups of high school students in law and, at the same time, help them improve their French. After completing the agreed number of courses, the high school students should be able to communicate and argument in French about legal issues and have an overview of the basics of French legal system, the country whose language they study. Through teaching, foreign students will learn how to convey to high school students legal issues to which may be hard to understand and to present them in a more accessible way which will help them to develop new communication, argumentation and presentation skills in general. Students will, thus, acquire the ability to communicate legal information in an effective and understandable manner. They will also have the opportunity to look at their knowledge from a new, comparative perspective and they will be confronted with different, culturally conditioned, views of high school students on basic legal institutes. En francais: Les étudiants vont travailler a deux ; chaque groupe va : - Préparer et tester une méthode éducative dans un des cours - Enseigner 1 cours de droit (45 minutes) dans une école primaire, secondaire ou au lycée (si possible vu la situation épidémiologique) Les étudiants vont préparer un cours sur un sujet choisis dans les domaines suivants : - Bases d'organisation de l'état en droit français Exemples : organisation de la justice, position et compétence du président en France - Droit européen Exemples : les institutions européenne et leur rôle - Droits de l'homme Exemples : systeme européen de la protection des droits de l'homme, droit a la vie Tous les étudiants vont présenter une breve proposition du sujet au deuxieme cours. On va discuter vos idées et on va revoir si le sujet choisi est approprié pour le groupe ciblé. Dans les cours suivants, les étudiants vont faire une simulation de leur cours préparer. Tous les matériels doivent etre prets avant la date de la simulation. On va discuter la méthode ensemble et on va voir comment elle peut etre améliorer. Nous nous attendons a ce que les autres étudiants soient prets a poser des questions a ceux qui présentent. Points a obtenir pendant le semestre : 12 points (2 points par cours) = participation ACTIVE dans les cours 18 points = présentation d'une méthode éducative dans le cours 50 points = cours de 45 minutes (2-3 exercices éducatives inclus) Notes finales : A : 100 - 90 points B : 89 - 80 points C : 79 - 70 points D : 69 - 60 points E : 59 - 50 points F : 49 - 0 points
In this course students use both theoretical knowledge and practical skills of presentation and communication, as well as argumentation, forwarding and boosting knowledge of others in an interactive way and others (time - management, academic searching of relevant legal framework etc.). These skills are important either for barristers and solicitors or any other legal professions.

Students enrolled in this course are required to participate in seminars and carry out tasks carefully for organizing and preparing their teaching blocks.
