Course content

Introductory lesson (3 x 45 mins): - exam requirements and study materials Tutorials (3 times) - tutorials are not compulsory, if students want to participate, they have to register for a tutorial by email at least one week before the set date

Learning outcomes
|
The aim is to pass the final exam which checks if students' language skills are at the B1+ level according to the Common European Framework of Reference. The exam consists of the written and oral part. Students can check their language skills in the placement test at their disposal after enrolling in their studies (http://placement-test.ff.upol.cz). Students can register for the course only in the winter semester, however, they can do the examination either in the winter or summer exam period.

English language skills are at the B1+ level according to the Common European Framework of Reference.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Oral exam, Written exam
Both the written and oral part takes place in person, more information in the Moodle for students who registered for the course. Written part: Test: reading comprehension, grammar and vocabulary. Oral part: The oral part of the exam checks if students' language skills are at the B1+ level. Students are expected to introduce themselves briefly (study, work, professional plans) and also to answer their teacher's questions (related to the self-presentation).
