Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to teach students not only basic grammar, but also deepen their language skills so that they can, in the shortest possible time, understand and work with authentic texts in their discipline. The resulting effect should be the ability to translate, understand grammatical terms, use foreign words correctly and derive their etymology, be creative in a linguistic sense, and perceive the cultural and aesthetic aspects of the language.
Students acquire the ability to understand grammatical concepts, use foreign words correctly, and translate simple Latin texts including a work with sources. They also manage basic Latin morphology, syntax, basic and vocabulary concerning a field of art.

Prerequisites
|
There are no specific prerequisites for this course, and students of all fields in both Bachelor's and Master's degree courses are welcome to enroll.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Oral exam, Written exam
At the end of the semester the students shall demonstrate their knowledge of the basics of Latin grammar and the ability to interpret short Latin texts with the help of a dictionary.
