Learning outcomes
|
The main objective in the first semester of the course is the consolidation of skills (grammar, vocabulary, listening, speaking, reading, writing) students have acquired before attending this course. Students can check their language skills in the placement test at their disposal after enrolling in their studies (http://placement-test.ff.upol.cz). Students must be at least on level A2 to be able to attend this course. They will be working with the English File Intermediate coursebook (5th edition!). In the first semester, they will do the units 1A-3A.
After passing the course students will be able to use the grammar (question forms, present simple and adverbs of frequency, present continuous, identifying relative clauses, past simple and continuous) and vocabulary from the first three units (1A-3A) of the coursebook well. At the end of the whole course (AJ1-AJ4) they will be able to prove that their language skills are at the B1 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference.
