Course content
|
Basic Czech grammatical structures, vocabulary and phrases used in everyday situations. Topics: city, country, post office, bank, restaurant, hotel, travelling, family, holidays, spare time. Grammar: future tense, indefinite pronouns, modal verbs, likes and dislikes, past tense.

Learning outcomes
|
Acquisition of basic communication strategies, language structures and vocabulary in order to speak the language in everyday life situations; making students familiar with basic linguistic terminology and with the basic grammar structure of the Czech language.
Students will be able to use Czech during their studies when communicating with patients.

Assessment methods and criteria

Mark, Oral exam, Written exam, Analysis of linguistic, Dialog, Systematic Observation of Student
Credit Students who want to meet the credit requirements must take a written test and have a minimum score of 66 %. They are expected to participate actively in class, complete homework assignments and perform successfully on progress tests. Students are also required to attend their classes regularly. Examination Students who want to meet the Czech language final exam requirements must sit an oral test consisting of two parts: 1. Reading and translating a simple written text on the topics covered in the course. 2. Topics for discussion: A. Můj den B. Moje rodina C. Životní styl D. Zdraví a nemoc (basic symptoms of diseases, questions related to case history, instructions concerning physical examination)
