Course content

The main attention is also paid to cytogenetic aspect of gametes differentiation and embryogenesis. Integral part of the course is an introduction to students with applications of biotechnologies in recent crop breeding. - Introduction, primary division of plant reproduction - Evolution of the plant reproduction - Development of reproduction organs and gametes - Development and differentiation of plant embryos, development of seeds and fruits

Aim of this course is to introduce to students the evolution and ontogenetic development of reproduction organs and gametes.
Student should be able to (after attending the course): - describe the evolution and ontogenetic development of reproduction organs and gametes - explain cytogenetic aspect of gametes differentiation and embryogenesi - describe applications of biotechnologies in recent crop breeding

Basic knowledge of plant anatomy, ecology and developmental biology.

Oral exam: three questions a) general characteristics of evolution of reproduction organs and gametes b) overview of ontogenetic development of reproduction organs and gametes and cytogenetics c) overview of used biotechnologies in crop breeding
