Resistance to the pesticides - types of resistance, mechanisms and the origin of resistance development, anti-resistant programme as the background of IPM. Registration of pesticides. Legislating of plant protection. Requirements of professional qualification with manipulation with the agents on plant protection. Alternative agents in current plant protection. Biorational agents - pheromones, analogues of the insect hormones, chemosterilants, inhibitors of chitin formation, activators of induced resistance and their application in plant protection. Biological agents on the base of entomophagous, acariphagous and nematophagous macroorganisms (parasitoides and predators). Biological agents on the base of microorganisms (entomophagous viruses, parasitic nematodes, mycoparasitic and antagonistic fungi and bacteria). Perspectives of pesticides on the base of natural products. GMO in current plant protection.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Lecture, Demonstration, Projection (static, dynamic), Laboratory Work
Learning outcomes
Actual questions of theoretical and practical classification, biological efficacy, formulations and applications of agents on protection of plants and process of registration of pesticides. Information about bases of phytopharmacy, phytopharmacology, toxicology and ecotoxicology
After attending this course, student should be able to know: - how to classify the pesticides, biocides, GMO and to be able to discuss the active ingredients, residuals and resistance to pesticides; - how to use The list of the registered plant protection products; - how to obtain information from www pages focused on phytopharmacy and how to work with them; - legislating about plant protection and requirements of professional qualification with manipulation with the agents on plant protection
