Course content
Syllabus of lectures: Didactics as a science, historical overview of didactics of biology in the area of present Czech republic, pedagogical and educational aims and tasks in education of biology, content of education, role of biology in scholar documents, organization forms of education, educational methods, didactic rules, educational tools, extra scholar activities of teacher and students, planning of the education, personality of the teacher on primary and hight secondary school. Syllabus of seminar: Preparation for the teaching (long-time and short-time planning), scholar documentation, safety rules, practical preparation of education, logical analysis of the subject matter in a light of educational methods, structurization of the subject matter, use of textbooks and other literature, classes of the ordinary type, of laboratory and practical exercises and excursions etc., methods of education of biology, didactic techniques, use of PC, handmade instruments, blackboard, drawings, sources of products of nature for experiments and observations, biological competitions, actual educational problems in biology, self-education of the biology teacher.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Lecture, Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Projection (static, dynamic), Activating (Simulations, Games, Dramatization)
Learning outcomes
Obtaining basic theoretical and practical knowledge on didactics of biology (for primary and hight secondary school).
Student should be able to (after attending the course): -describe the principles of educational process in Biology at primary and secondary educational level; -describe the core of educational process and its application in teaching; -prepare, organize and realize the education (teaching) in Biology; -select and realize appropriate educational method in teaching.
Prerequisites
Obtaining basic theoretical and practical knowledge on didactics of biology.

Assessment methods and criteria
Mark, Written exam, Seminar Work

Credit - 90% attendance, working out the seminar task. Exam - written test, oral exam - 2 randomly selected questions.
