Course content
Oncogenes and tumor suppressor genes, dysregulation of cell cycle and neoplastic transformation, childhood malignancies, cytogenetics of malignant disorders, new methods in cytogenetics, methods of molecular medicine, apoptosis in biology and medicine, stem cells in medicine, hematology and blood elements, blood clotting symptoms, immune system, genetics of viruses with the focus on HIV.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Lecture, Monologic Lecture(Interpretation, Training), Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming)
Learning outcomes
The aim of the seminar is to extend basic knowledge of cellular biology and human genetics. The seminars are focused on modern aspects of molecular medicine, especially on molecular pathophysiology of malignancies.
This subject allows the students to better understand the connection between dysfunctional cellular processes (cell signaling, cell division) and development of some human diseases, such as human cancers.
Prerequisites
Completion of courses "Biology" or "Biology and Genetics".
