Topics of lectures and practical lectures: 1.Biopolymers. 2.Cytology I, II. 3.Gene definition and genetic information. 4.Replication and transcription of DNA. 5.Translation and protein synthesis. 6.Mutation and mutagenic factors. 7.Cell genome, cell cycle, mitosis, meiosis and its consequences. 8.Cytogenetics. 9.Basics of human genetic inheritance patterns and diseases. Inheritance and gender. 10.Binding of genes. Methods of human genetics. Metabolic diseases of humans.

Learning outcomes
Students of the bachelor's study programmes will be acquainted with the basics of medical biology and genetics.
Students gain basic knowledge of biology and genetics. In practical lectures, they acquire the knowledge of microscopy and solving genetic examples.
