Learning outcomes
This course provides a comprehensive examination of the gendered nature of human mobility within Asia, with a particular focus on women's migration. Students will explore key concepts, including migration regimes, gender dynamics, social reproduction, care economies, and how these intersect with global and regional development. Through theoretical perspectives and case studies from Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia, and other regions, the course will investigate the experiences of female labor and marriage migrants, and the impact of migration on individuals, families, and societies.
