Course content
|
This course is divided into two blocks during two semesters. In the first block, it acquaints students with the form and rules of the academic text and prepares students for writing seminar and diploma theses. Students will learn to search, evaluate, and work with resources, and use university library and database services in the field. They will learn from suitable sources to prepare a search of professional literature and formulate a research question, which will be answered by a suitable methodology. In groups, they choose one topic and prepare a mini-study, which will be presented in the form of a poster. 1. Academic text and its origin 2. Sources, resources, databases and library 3. Choice of topic, formulation of research questions 4. Literature review, hierarchy of sources and citations 5. What is plagiarism 6. Academic style, and polite communication 7. Argumentation 8. Typography and style, presentation, poster 9. Academic text in English In the second block, it introduces students to the methodology and professional principles of preparing a bachelor's thesis. Students work in thematically and linguistically unified groups, which mutually review the prepared proposals. After approval of the topic by the supervisor, students prepare a source search and prepare a presentation of the topic and a work schedule. 1. Methodology of language research 2. This course is divided into two blocks that took place during two semesters. In the first block, it introduces students to the form and rules of the academic text and prepares students for writing seminar and diploma theses. Students will learn to search, evaluate, and work with resources, and use university library and database services in the field. From suitable sources you will learn to prepare a search of professional literature and formulate a research question that will be answered by a suitable methodology. They will choose one topic in their experience and prepare a mini-study that will take the form of a poster for years.
Students will gain knowledge that will allow them not only to successfully write a bachelor's and master's thesis, but also skills to successfully defend it.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Oral exam
Successful completion of the course will be awarded on the basis of the defense of the bachelor's thesis.
