Learning outcomes
Building upon History of Japanese Thought 1, this course provides a comprehensive overview of the development of Japanese thought from the Meiji Restauration to present. Attention is also paid to the role of traditional ideologies in the modern Japanese society.
Upon completion of the course, students will demonstrate a good understanding of the development of Japanese thought from the Meiji Restauration to present.
Prerequisites
The course is designed for Japanese major students but students of other majors are welcome, too. Knowledge of Japanese is not required. It is, however, required to have passed History of Japanese Thought 1.
