The aim of this course is to provide students with a general knowledge of the Uzbek Language, as it is spoken and written today. This course will familiarize students with the structure and practical use of the Uzbek language. Throughout the course the practice of language skills such as listening, speaking, reading, and writing will be stressed extensively. Students will be introduced to more complex grammatical structures of the Uzbek language than in the Uzbek 1 course. During classes, aspects of the daily life of Uzbeks will be discussed and by the end of the course, students will be able to communicate in Uzbek on various topics related to the daily life of Uzbek society. The course will be taught by a native speaker with experience in ethnographic study of the Uzbeks of Samarkand, Bukhara and Afghanistan. During the classes students will be exposed to authentic ethnographic materials such as video clips showing the daily life of the Uzbek people.
