The course introduces students to Chinese grammar from a comparative and theoretical perspective. The course provides an in-depth treatment of a range of grammatical constructions. Students will acquire the skills in identifying grammatical patterns and articulating grammatical differences in a precise and concise manner. We will draw data from Mandarin, Cantonese, and other Chinese dialects. The course covers the following topics: ? Noun Phrase ? Verb Phrase ? Questions ? Coordination and subordination
