Course content

Learning outcomes
The course is designed as intensive language course with daily classes. It focuses on practical language of communication, including all five language skills: reading, listening, speaking, writing, and cultural awareness. During the third semester, students further extend their communication skills with new daily conversation topics, new grammar patterns, and more Chinese characters. The course is taught by both Czech lecturers and Chinese native speakers. Weekly individual lectures with native speakers focusing on intensive language practice are part of the course requirements. Course covers the scope of Integrated Chinese 3 (4th ed.).

Assessment methods and criteria

The course is designed as an intensive language training with daily classes, which by its nature requires daily practice and preparation. Weekly tests as well as frequent grammatical and character exercises are designed to help students master the language gradually. Final exam includes both written and spoken part: 1. test on language skills - focuses on grammar, vocabulary and Chinese characters. Minimal score requirement depends on individual student's work during the semester (weekly quizzes, attendance). 2. spoken exam - dialogue on topics covered during the semester, test the ability to make a sentence, understand questions, reply Student must past both parts to obtain credits.
