-Bukharan Jewish literature, Tajik and Dari Literature 20th century -Tibetan Sinophone writing -The Ferghana School of Literature -Chingiz Aitmatow and his ideas on religion, environment and humanity

Learning outcomes
The course introduces students to the literary tradition of Central Asia and the idea of their centrality and interconnectedness. Students learn about the entanglement of languages, cultures and literature over the course of time. Various literaly cultures, influences of national, religious, economic and political mindsets will also play a role as geography, communication routes and political power.
