Learning outcomes
The goal of the lecture is to introduce with modern analytical, semipreparative and preparative techniques of isomers separations and identification techniques suitable for enantiomers.
Student is able to describe the basic principles of separation of isomers (positional, geometrical, optical, etc.), design an appropriate procedure in analytical, preparative and semipreparative arrangement. Student is able to describe Identifying methods and procedures used to identify and distinguish isomers.
Prerequisites
The knowledge of basics of analytical chemistry and instrumental methods of analytical chemistry is recommended.
Assessment methods and criteria
Mark, Oral exam
The scope and selection of topics is determined by identifying the target group of participants - students first and second year master's degree chemical study in the Faculty of Science. To obtain the credit necessary to succeed in the written test. The student must be able to present basic facts and mentioned thematic areas (eg separation of optical and geometric isomers, choose the appropriate technique for the identification of isomers; interpretation of spectral data used to study the spatial arrangement of isomers) to pass the exam
