The aim of the study is to provide a fully qualified education in the social field (according to Act 108/2006 Coll. and the ASVSP Standards of Education in Social Work) with a specific focus on the performance of social worker activities in the health care sector. The aim is to develop a graduate - a specialist, performing social work, especially in health care, using advanced and innovative methods. The aim is to prepare a professional with a focus on systemic solutions to adverse social events, having the skills to conduct research and social analysis, to create conceptual solutions to social problems and to implement effective intervention. The graduate will also gain the competence to become a professional in the management of social institutions and teams. The graduate will be prepared for the position of an expert who is part of a multidisciplinary team, ensuring the improvement of the quality of life of clients, especially in the field of health care. During the first year of study, the student has the opportunity to choose between two specialisations: applied psychotherapy and innovation and management in social work. In both cases, students take courses of a common foundation, which provide professional qualification for the performance of the work of a social worker. The aim is for the student to use their existing interests and aptitudes to perform future work focused either on psychotherapeutic work with clients or on management and innovation in organisations. The compulsory practices and internships reflecting the different areas are also focused with regard to the student's profile. The study is based on biblical anthropology and builds on the concept of the human being as an organically inseparable bio-psycho-socio-spiritual unity (according to the WHO). Part of the study will promote the personal growth of the student and strengthen his/her motivation based on the principles of solidarity, love, empathy, altruism and prosocial behavior. The study builds on Judeo-Christian cultural roots (which is also a value relevant to the EU).
