Key learning outcomes The Bachelor's degree programme primarily aims at active knowledge of Portuguese at the level B2 of Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. It also provides an orientation in the basic terminology of theory of literature, in the history of Portuguese literature, in Portuguese linguistics and in history and culture of Portugal and Brazil. The study programme also focuses on helping students to develop their ability to work independently, to find relevant information and evaluate it critically, and to give convincing presentations of the results of their own work.

Occupational profiles of graduates with examples The graduates of three year Bachelor course in Portuguese Philology are provided with an orientation in basic fields of linguistics, literature, history and culture of Portuguese speaking countries and they should prove creative approach to these fields. As for language skills, they should reach the level B2 of Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. The graduates are qualified to work in foreign companies, libraries and in publishing houses that specialize in Portuguese literature. They can make use of their language knowledge as tourist guides in travel agencies, editors in media, assistants of interpreters and translators and moreover also in diplomacy.
