Key learning outcomes
|
During the study, graduates will get acquainted in detail with the theoretical principles of the functioning of the immune system in health and disease. Laboratory equipment, range of established methods and especially staffing, allows to perform studies i) in the field of immunogenetics and immunogenomics (HLA typing and study of association of diseases with polymorphism of immunologically important genes), ii) in infectious immunology and vaccination prevention (design, preparation and testing of recombinant protein and DNA vaccines and study of the immune response to their application in experimental animals, design of molecular biological constructs with adjuvant or immunomodulatory effect on specific and non-specific cellular immune response), iii) cooperation with clinical workplaces (expression profiling of immunologically important genes and their products, monitoring of selected cell populations), and iv) IgA issues in mucosal immunity and autoimmune processes, including experimental study of therapeutic options.
