Course content
The course is devoted to organ systems structure in invertebrates. The overall overview on basic types of organ systems and their general characteristics is presented. Organ systems in each important taxonomical group is discussed in detail. Students have the opportunity to compare particular organ systems among taxonomical groups with respect to their morphology, development, evolution, characteristics and structure. Special attention is paid to specialized organs and body structures of invertebrates. There is also the dissection several representatives of invertebrates. 1. Nervous system, hormonal regulation and sensory. 2. The system of cover, movement and backing. 3. Digestive and respiratory system. 4. Excretory system and circulation. 5. Reproductive system.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Lecture, Demonstration, Laboratory Work
Learning outcomes
Deepening knowledge of anatomy and morphology, structures organ systems and organs in important groups of invertebrates.
Student should be able to (after attending the course): - recall basic classification and characteristics of organ systems - describe morphology of each organ system in important groups of invertebrates - describe in detail anatomy of important organs and parts of organ systems.
Prerequisites
Elementary knowledges in basic and systematic zoology.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam

Credit: Participation in practical classes. Exam: Demonstration of knowledge of anatomy and morphology of invertebrates in the form of a written test, based primarily on the practical part.
