Origins, evolution, classification and phylogeny of birds. Morphology, anatomy, physiology, behaviour and ecology. Reproduction and development, population dynamics, adaptations and protection of birds. Methods used in ornitology both in the field and laboratory experiments and genetic analyses. Recent topics in ornithological research. History of ornitology, ornithological societies, birds and legislation, applied ornithology.
