Course content
|
1. Work with literature and information sources, bibliographic software, citation formats. 2. Types of scientific publications, their structure and content. 3. Writing text, presentation of quantitative data (tables, figures) and results of statistical data analysis. 4. Technical preparation of manuscripts and publication process. 5. Oral and poster presentation. 6. Evaluation of scientific work, citation analysis, ethical aspects. 7. Fund raising, writing application for a grant.

Learning outcomes
|
Student should be able to: - Search information in bibliographic databases. - Work with literature, cite sources properly. - Evaluate scientific work on the base of citation analysis. - Select an adequate type of scientific presentation. - Write texts, present quantitative data in tables and figures. - Prepare manuscripts according to "Guidelines for Authors" for specific journal. - Communicate with the editor, complete revision of the manuscript. - Prepare and present poster and talk.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Written exam, Seminar Work
Active participation in class (attendance 80%). Completion of midterm tasks. Completion of final test (80% = passing). Oral presentation of scientific results.
