Course content
The three-day field entomology course will be located into selected localities in middle and southern Moravia. The first part is a seminar focused on the methods of collecting invertebrates and the second part takes place in the field. Students will be introduced to modern and common biomonitoring methods, identification and sorting of selected insects. Students will improve their knowledge on classification and ecology of insects and they will try to determine selected important taxa using identification keys. During the field trip students will be introduced to taxonomically, ecologically and economically important insect taxa. The basic types of biotopes with their characteristic insect fauna will be also presented to students.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic Lecture(Interpretation, Training), Observation, Demonstration
Learning outcomes
Students will be introduced to basic methods of field entomology research, different methods of collecting data, basic determination of selected insect taxa, important diagnostic characters of taxonomically, ecologically and economically important species and their ecological characteristics.
After passing this course, student should be able to: - use different methods of field entomological research - know the classification of insects - use identification keys - determine selected important insect taxa - describe the biology and ecology of selected insect taxa
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of entomology.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance, Systematic Observation of Student

Presence: 100%; detailed notes from all days (field trips, seminars).
